My practice focuses on TIME as a primal force in creation as embodied in many mythologies by the serpentsnake. I choose to work with the serpentsnake in its many visual symbolic manifestations, especially those that incorporate the meander, the circle and the spiral. More importantly, I work with it because it is a sign dreaded by western patriarchy, a symbol tied with the lot of woman and the 'fall', as told in the Judeo-ChristianIslamic story of Genesis.

Time was once observed and revered, now it is managed and commodified. Time was once lived and celebrated in the present tense rather than objectified and studied in only the past or future tenses. The sense of an 'ever present tense' and the ongoing act of creation in primal mythologies allows one a position of interdependent action, a sense a place in both time and space, whereas the nihilistic vision of modern and postmodern culture leaves one without a firm sense of continuity, only the uneasy resentment of being acted upon, with no sure footing in a constantly shifting theoretical ground.

The large scale floorwork was grounded in a Fibonacci numerical sequence marked in organic matter - immanence.
