This image is titled ...a photograph of myself stealing It is a conventional photograph 30x40 inches made on RA paper. In the image the photographer is seen robbing the till in the Galaxy restaurant here in Ottawa. It was originally exhibited as the left half of a diptych, the other portion showed the scene inside the restaurant behind the camera with the camera turned 180 degrees. The intended effect of the double image was to reveal the "artifice" of the picture making process by including the crew who assisted in the production of the image as an integral part of the finished picture. This no longer seems necessary and I am not too sure you want to wait for such a big file either eh? This picture states the photographer as a thief. For some photographers this aspect of picture taking over-rides common sense. The tabloid paparazzi are good examples of photographers who work on a trophy hunter versus prey basis. I got muh fastest n"longest lens out and I shot im where he stood.
